There are number of MoD facilities which may be of potential use to the space community needing to test rocketry, impacting probes, RF equipment, and to access unmanned UAVs for airborne demonstration of space payloads. Facilities include:
These facilities are currently managed by QinetiQ under a contract known as the Long Term Partnering Agreement (LTPA). This is a 25-year contract between MoD and QinetiQ to deliver Test & Evaluation (T&E) and Training Support Services to the UK Armed Forces. However, facilities may also be accessed on a commercial basis by authorised third parties including overseas governments, academia and industry.
The LTPA can provide expert advice to scope,
design and deliver complex trials which focus on challenging Test &
Evaluation requirements.
