Oxford's Cold Optics Chamber

The 1m diameter “cold optics chamber” uses a multi stage closed cycle cooler to allow simulation of various internal temperatures of an instrument. Outer stages of the cooler are used to cool shrouds to simulate cold space, both as a calibration reference and to simulate changing thermal load on the instrument.
