From precision machining to high specification vacuum brazing of complex precision components - our teams of experienced material technologists have the capabilities they need to develop bespoke prototypes in-house. Our teams are able to work side-by-side with our clients to develop solutions for manufacturing challenges, as well as producing high-quality, rapid turnaround batch and repeat work. Meaning you can tap into our extensive aerospace and high-energy physics experience to deliver stratospheric innovation for your next precision engineering project.
Manufacturing Solutions Division
Highly specialised vacuum brazing sits at the heart of our technical operations. By bringing together unique furnace technology capable of achieving very low base pressures, with a hot zone charge size of 2.5m × 1.5m (diameter × height) – we can achieve high strength, void-free joints with a broad range of materials. The facility is also capable of undertaking sub-contract heat treatment operations, and the thermal cycling of complex assemblies for the space, aerospace and defence sectors.
Vacuum Brazing
Our range of high specification CNC machines provide 3-axis and 5-axis milling services. Our machining centres deliver high levels of dimensional accuracy and surface finish. Through using the latest CAD/CAM software we manufacture high tolerance components in a variety of materials including titanium and nickel alloys. Allowing our experienced manufacturing team to manufacture high value bespoke components and cost-effective batch production services in sizes up to 700mm × 1100mm.
High Precision Manufacturing
In 2015 Reaction Engines was awarded OxLEP funding to expand our Quality Assurance department. Along with employing a new team of quality assurance specialists, we invested in the latest state of the art CMM technology with a fully tailored ACCURA bridge type CMM solution from ZEISS, integrated with customised CALYPSO software.
What’s more, every component we manufacture comes with an accompanying inspection report, signed off by our CMM inspector, together with all relevant accompanying documentation that ensures the project meets customer requirements on accuracy, conformance and material specification sheets.
